Tyldesley is a small town approximately 10 miles west of Manchester. Locally known as 'Bongs', slang shortened from the word 'Banks'. The town used to be called Tyldesley Banks after the three banks that Tyldesley is built on, shown as the three green semicircles in the bands crest. We currently have about 25 playing members aged 13 to 83, and numerous local supporters. The band is a member of the North West Brass Band Association (NWBBA) and takes part in various contests throughout the year as well as playing at local events and putting on concerts. The band enjoys a good social life in the bandroom, along with the annual band dinner, and many members enjoy the 'de-briefing session' in The Mort Arms pub in Tyldesley after rehearsals.

The band rehearses on Tuesdays and Thursdays 8-10pm in the chapel building on Milk Street in Tyldesley, and all players are welcome to come for a blow.
