If you have transport issues getting to/from rehearsals, we may be able to resolve them, don't discount any vacancies because of travel! We may also be able to provide you with an instrument if required.

Principal Cornet

The Committee and Musical Director of Tyldesley Band are inviting applications for the position of Principal Cornet, and would like to hear from anyone who may be interested.
As applicants will be able to see from our contest results and engagements, the band is extremely busy throughout the year, and has high expectations of all the members.
Tyldesley Band has been a proud home to many cornet players over its history, where former Principals have gone on to highly successful bands.

As a regularly contesting band, we offer a challenging seat, a seat where former members have progessed their playing careers to such bands as Black Dyke, Fairey, Grimethorpe, Pemberton, the TA Band and many more.

Back Row Cornet

We have a vacancy on the Back Row at Tyldesley Band. Are you in a lower section band or a youth band? At school/college/university? Or considering a change of scene? This might be the seat for you!.

Percussion - Tuned

We have a vacancy within the Percussion section of Tyldesley Band. This position can flexible with home/work commitments where needed. Kit experience would be a bonus but not essential.

Where We Are

The band room is located in the Chapel Building on Milk Street, Tyldesley - 5 minutes from the A580 East Lancashire Road and 10 minutes from junctions 4 & 5 of the M61.

We rehearse 20:00 - 22:00 on Tuesday and Thursday. Any players are welcome to come down to rehearsals, however please contact the Band Manager or Musical Director before coming down.
